Get Some Color and Glow: Blush vs Bronzer
No look is complete without a splash of color on your face. This is where a blush and bronzer come in. Putting on blush and bronzer is my favorite part of the whole makeup routine! It instantly brightens up your face and gives you a lively, healthy appearance.
Read on to find out how to apply blush and bronzer and what is the difference between the two.
Blush comes in two forms: pressed powder and creamy. It really depends on your preference which kind you want to use. Personally I prefer pressed powder blushes because they are easily applied with a blush brush and they last longer. Smile into the mirror to reveal the apples of your cheeks and swirl the blush on them blending up towards your temples.
With creamy blush, you have to apply it before you set your makeup with powder – on top of your liquid foundation. Dab some on the apples of your cheeks with fingers and blend up towards your ears. Let it dry for a few minutes before setting it with powder.
I use a variety of different colors of blushes from BSC, MAC and NARS brands.
Bronzer can you your best friend if you are pale like me. But it can be your worst enemy if applied incorrectly or too heavily. Bronzers are usually pressed powders that are applied with a large fluffy brush. Use bronzer in a thin layer all over the face, neck and chest if you’d like a gorgeous glow and a tan look. Otherwise, use bronzer as contour powder to shape your face and give a bit more sculpted look. To apply bronzer correctly, concentrate on the areas that would be first hit by the sun – top of forehead, cheekbones, bridge of the nose, chin and chest. Blend all of it in and you’re glowing!
