The last 3 weeks I spent traveling around Canada, promoting Canadian Ice diamonds as their spokesperson. This tour started in Toronto – my hometown, for the festivities of the annual Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).

Canadian Ice, and the national jewelry chain Ben Moss, that exclusively carries the brand across Canada, were the main sponsors of 2 parties this season.

The first was the Ever Magazine party that I hosted at Tappo Restaurant in the distillery district, and the second was Hello Canada Magazine event, both of which drew many Canadian and some international celebrities and national media. I loved the feeling of walking the red carpet and being interviewed by a line-up of press for TV and print, back on Canadian soil, representing a Canadian brand, and in my hometown. I met many interesting people including local TV show hosts, musicians, athletes, actors, and politicians. Among them was Milos Raonic, Canadian star tennis player, who created quite a stir among all the guests. I also bumped into the current Miss Universe Canada, Sahar Biniaz, and we talked a little about her preparation for the upcoming Miss Universe 2012 pageant this December.

The highlight of the night for me, was a 25 foot Canadian Ice banner featuring me in a sparkling red “Jessica Rabbit” style dress, alongside same-size banners of Hollywood movie stars like Halle Barry, Anne Hathaway, Nicole Kidman and Kate Winslet, all in red dresses!

I also had a photoshoot for a jewelry magazine – Ever. Photographed by the talented Babar Khan, and wearing gorgeous Canadian Ice jewelry, the shoot was a lot of fun! Stay tuned to see the magazine cover, editorial and interview next month.

The cross-Canada tour then continued with a couple of visits to Ben Moss stores at local malls – Fairview and Sherway Gardens. I was so pleasantly surprised to see the positive reaction of the staff and huge turn-out of fans that came by to see me. In a matter of minutes of my arrival, there were crowds gathering and lining up for an autograph and a photo. It was great to be back home in Canada and get that kind of welcome! I also got a chance to meet and get to know Canada’s only gold medalist at Olympics 2012 games, Rosie MacLennan. She was a special guest of Canadian Ice, who gifted her with a beautiful diamond pendant for her achievement. What a lovely and inspirational young woman! She even let me wear her gold medal for a while!

On my last day in Toronto, I had an early morning appearance on the local news show Breakfast Television, to announce a contest to give away a Canadian Ice floating diamond pendant to one lucky viewer. It was freezing cold and I was wearing just a short dress while being interviewed by the hosts Dina and Kevin. But it was a blast, and an honor to meet them.

The same day I flew out to Winnipeg, Manitoba the headquarters of Ben Moss, to visit another store, with an equally great turn-out of fans and supporters. The next day was a visit in Calgary, Red Deer, and Edmonton – all in one day! The final stop was Vancouver, which was the most beautiful of the cities on the tour, but I was only there for a day, so didn’t get to see much of the gorgeous nature. I was happy that I got to visit the western side of Canada, as it was my first time in that region. Now I can be proud to say I’ve seen my country from coast to coast!
