Preparation Tips to crack JEE Main and JEE Advanced

Education

The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE)  is a national level entrance examination. It is a gateway for many prestigious Engineering colleges across the country like NITs, Central Funded Technical Institutes (CFTIs) and IITs. From 2019, the National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts JEE exams twice a year which includes JEE main and JEE advanced in January and April. There are two-stages in JEE exams, the first stage is JEE Main and the second stage is JEE Advanced. And JEE advanced cutoff is an important concept for the candidates before the counseling process. JEE advanced cut off is the minimum marks required to score by the candidates in all the subjects to undergo the counseling process.

JEE advanced cut off depends on various factors

  • Available seats for admissions
  • The number of applicants
  • The level of examination and performance by the candidates
  • The cutoff trend in preceding years

Tips to crack JEE Main and JEE Advanced

  • A better understanding of the paper format

Before making the time table, it’s very important to understand the weight of the topic from each subject instead of wasting time on chapters having lesser marks. A better approach is, having a word with seniors who have already cleared JEE Main and JEE advanced exams.

  • Proper approach

Class 11 and 12 syllabus of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics is huge, which is unrealistic to cover at the last moment. A minimum of 6 hours of dedicated self-study is required on a daily basis. It’s necessary to break self-study time into two parts, where the first part is for a new topic and the second part is for revision.

  • Attending Mock tests

After the mock test, candidates will better understand their level of preparation and time management required and also analyse their weak point towards the subject. For example, a candidate who feels weaker in some topic of Chemistry can dedicate extra effort and time to do better in the examination.

  • Like-minded partners

Being with a like-minded companion makes it easier to crack JEE main and advanced examination. Try to build a peer study group who is as enthusiastic as you, to score more than the JEE advance cutoff mark.

  • Well-balanced lifestyle

Keep yourself healthy by eating a portion of good nutritious food and some exercise, meditation or yoga. Devote extra time in the timetable to help yourself from unexpected sickness.

  • Find a good study material

There is nothing that can stop you from achieving your goal, if you have the right study materials. The study materials comprise many things like question papers, video lectures, books and study notes. Good study material will give a better understanding of the concept and also boost the confidence level of the candidates.
