Karnataka Common Entrance Test(KCET) is a state-level examination conducted in the state of Karnataka for admission into various courses. The examination includes subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology. KCET is an examination held once in a year. The candidates who qualify will be eligible to apply to various colleges in the state of Karnataka. The application for the examination will be available online on the official website. All the important dates relevant to the examination will be announced by the Karnataka Examination Authority. The examination for every subject is held for a duration of 1 hour and 20 minutes. KCET syllabus is based on the higher secondary curriculum.
Eligibility Criteria
The candidates should have passed the higher secondary examination from a board recognised by the government of India. General category students must score a minimum of 45% in the Class 12 board examination and reserved category students must score a minimum of 40% to be eligible for the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET). The candidates must have studied Physics and Mathematics as the main subjects and English as the language subject is eligible to write the examination.
Application Form
The application form for the examination will be available on the official website. The candidates can download the information brochure from the website and read the guidelines to fill the application form before filling it. The candidates must register with his/her phone number and email id before filling the application form. After registration, they will receive the login credentials to the registered phone number. The candidates must upload a scanned copy of the signature, photograph, left thumb impression and parents thumb impression. After submission of the application form, the candidates will be allowed to make corrections during the correction window.
Admit Card
The candidates must download the admit card online from the official website. The department will not be sending hard copies of admit cards by post. It is mandatory for the candidate to take the admit card to the examination hall along with a valid ID proof.
