Chapatti vs Tortillas

Food

Chapattis: There are various types of roti and it is made by Indians in many different ways. The most popular method of baking a roti is by adding salt and making a dough. To make a chapatti start making the bread by taking 1 cup of whole-grain flour and add some water to make the dough soft and fresh. Keep aside the bread for at least 5 minutes and in that period the dough will take its shape. During this period plug your roti maker or heat your tava so you can easily make your rotti. Divide the dough into different parts. Then take each part and make a little dough by your hand or utilize the lid of the roti maker to flat out the chapatti and after that, the chapatti will take its round shape. Leave the roti for at least 2-3minutes and let it be cooked. You will start to see the light brown dots rising from the dough when it gets cooked. Do the same process with all the other little doughs and your chapatti is now ready to get served.

  • Tortillas: Tortillas are served widely in Mexico as it is Mexican cuisine. A whole-wheat tortilla ranges from 6 to 10 inches in diameter and is basically used to wrap tacos and burritos. A whole-wheat tortilla is made up of mixing four different ingredients i.e., whole-wheat flour, some salt, vegetable shortening, and some mild water. You should mix the whole-wheat flour with the lard until it gets fully mixed and pours some mild water while you are mixing the whole mixture. Then knead the dough for at least 3 to 5 minutes until it gets smooth. Then part out the doughs into small balls and keep it aside for thirty minutes before rolling and cooking them.
